About This Training

Inclusive Hiring Practices equips teams to see how bias quietly shapes who gets hired, from the first resume scan through the final debrief. Participants learn to name the specific biases at work in reviewing resumes and interviewing, then practice concrete tools that hold every candidate to the same standard. It is built for organizations that want hiring decisions grounded in evidence and shared criteria rather than gut feel.

What Participants Learned

  • Name the bias in the room. Distinguish confirmation, similarity, halo, groupthink, and anchoring as they show up in real hiring decisions.
  • Review resumes against criteria, not instinct. Define what the role needs in advance and apply one checklist across every candidate.
  • Interview with structure. Use rubrics, ask consistent questions, and reduce the small talk that fuels similarity bias.
  • Protect the debrief. Capture feedback before the group talks and have managers speak last so the loudest voice does not set the verdict.
  • Widen the lens on a resume. Read employment gaps, caregiving, and lived experience as context, not red flags.

This was an amazing training, great examples, great conversations, and breakdown of how these topics are relevant for our job.
